S/S:

  • Reports or observations of:
  • Low intake of plant foods containing:
  •             Soluble fiber, eg psyllium (low total and LDL   cholesterol)
  •             Soy protein (low total and LDL cholesterol)
  •             Beta glucan, eg whole oat products (low total and LDL cholesterol)
  •             Plant sterol and stanol esters, eg fortified margarines (low total and LDL cholesterol)
  • Lack of available foods/products with bioactive substance in markets
  • Conditions associated with diagnosis or treatment, eg cardiovascular disease, elevated cholesterol
  • Discomfort or pain associate with intake of foods rich in bioactive substances, eg soluble fiber, beta-glucan, soy protein
